How far in advance do I need to book my Adelaide wedding catering?

Wedding caterers can book out during peak wedding season. It’s advisable to book as soon as you set your date. You can pick a menu closer to your wedding day.

Which is cheaper, a cocktail, buffet, or sit-down dinner?

Buffets can be slightly cheaper. Guests serve themselves and this reduces the number of staff. However, buffets can become more expensive than sit-down dinners if there is a large choice of dishes. Typically, the more choices of meal whether it be buffet or sit-down, the more expensive it is. Cocktail receptions are usually more about mingling, they may be a similar price to a buffet and or sit-down with limited choices. Cocktail catering is charged per item and this can be $2 for something small like spring rolls to $15 or more for something more substantial like a noodle box.

Can my wedding cake be used as dessert?

Yes, a caterer may charge for plating and serving as dessert though.

If there are no cooking facilities at my venue what will the caterers do?

Some Adelaide wedding caterers are able to bring their own cooking equipment or portable ovens. Be sure to check with your venue to ensure they have access to a power supply if required. Otherwise, caterers can provide a food selection that does not require cooking or heating.

Who provides linen, tableware, chairs, etc?

Your Adelaide wedding caterer maybe able to provide these, or you can source from a wedding hire company who may have a larger range for you to choose from.

Does a caterer provide serving staff?
